Since the early 1990s, my paintings have been expressionistic in technique while reliant on form and symbolism inspired by C. G. Jung’s alchemical transformation and Eastern Philosophy. My interest in quantum physics has broadened my work to include inspiration from the mathematics that seeks to explain the energy forces that govern our physical world. Alice in Quantumland depicts the manifestation of our physical reality based on the current scientific String Theory perspective that describes our world as the culmination of ‘strings’ vibrating to the frequency of the Cosmos. The paintings rely compositionally on the hexagon as the primordial geometric shape arising from the vibration of Universal Energy consistent with Plato’s sacred solids. The triangle represents the Triad and is the foundation of sacred geometry. “Point Forms” are derived from Kandinsky’s view of the creative process as a liberation of the soul from the contemplation of the materialistic pleasures of the senses to the ‘discoveries’ of the joy of Eternity. The paintings reflect the interconnecting energy that is the foundation of who we are and challenges our perception of the nature of our true selves. |
